Dormant

Director: Mario G. Riquelme · Country: Spain · Year: 2025 · Runtime: 12 min · Language: Spanish

Three kids play at killing time by visiting unusual places: Luken, Koldo and Nestor know each other, but when the three of them get together, two of them always team up against one of them, walking through an abandoned quarry, they see something lying on the ground, they approach it and it is a dead dog. While Koldo and Luken look at the animal, Nestor walks away and approaches again with a huge rock in both hands. He threatens to throw it, but Luken, the most sensible of the three, stops him, reproaches him for his gesture and provokes an argument in which they end up reproaching each other, after which Koldo challenges Luken to throw a rock at him to show that he is not prejudiced. Luken refuses, the other two team up again. Luken pretends to leave the place. After hearing how the other two repudiate him, in a fit of rage he aggressively approaches, picks up the stone and throws it at the animal. After doing so, the two surprised friends burst out in seemingly certain jubilation while the boy who threw the stone is devastated, the two boys walk away from him and steal his bicycle and leave, the latter burying the animal as a final act of conscience
